Imago Paradisi
What if I told you
that there is a place on earth
of exceptional beauty,
breathtaking views,
serene calmness,
astonishing colourfulness
and spiritual profoundness,
where you can hear the silence,
cherish the peace,
see unthinkable,
witness divine,
remain still
and just be, who you are –
soul, that feels at home …

Immediate Proximity
Living in the village on the hill brings with it many benefits. You don’t have to go far or even drive to your destination. By God’s mercy I’m fortunate to call this beautiful place my home.
I am fully aware, that I don’t owe anything and was just entrusted with the care for as long as I will be on the pilgrimage towards my eternal abode.
However, I have to admit that I’m spoilt for choice: a quick look through the window suffices to determine what the Providence has in store for the day. A short walk away I can enjoy sunrise or sunset, grand vistas or intimate landscape, meadows or forest, foggy valleys or rolling hills. Even waterfalls are not too far away.
I begin and end each day with prayer, grateful for everything as prodigal son, who is aware that he is not worthy of the love of his Father.
“We must understand then, that even though God doesn’t always give us what we want, he always gives us what we need for our salvation”
― Saint Augustine, Confessions
Inner Sanctum
They have always attracted me with their deep atmosphere of seclusion and tranquillity, which draws me closer to my Lord. Once you enter them, the time seems to suddenly stop.
This centuries old places emanate a sense of harmony, solitude and relief from worldly burdens. They inspire longing for freedom and divine, and incline sincere souls to seek the truth.
Sanctuaries as well as nature – the biggest of them all – remind us of our destiny, which we, the pilgrims, are yet to reach. They help us reconnect with the inner sanctums of our hearts.
This world is not our true home. We are in the world, but we are not of the world. We can’t die, we can only begin to live, because now we are spiritually dead.
Each visit of sacred spaces awakens in us hankering for what is eternal. Inevitable disappointments give way to inner peace and divine love.
“You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in You.”
― Saint Augustine, Confessions
Indescribable Beauty
What would our life be without the flowers?
From time immemorial they fascinate us. Flowers even hold a special place in the Bible, where they are often used to convey deeper meanings and spiritual lessons. Additionally, flowers served as powerful symbols representing divine messages, moral teachings, and important events in the Bible.
The presence of flowers in the biblical text is a testament to their importance. People recognized the beauty and symbolism of flowers as gifts from God.
In the Bible, flowers often symbolize various virtues. For example, the lily represents purity, innocence, and resurrection, while the rose symbolizes love, beauty, and hope.
Flowers also serve as reminders of God’s presence and love, as they are often used as metaphors for divine qualities or attributes.
“To fall in love with God is the greatest romance; to seek him the greatest adventure; to find him, the greatest human achievement.”
― Saint Augustine, Confessions
